Arc De Triomphe came about basically because my mac started acting up. After the "home invasion" in 2017 (visible on personal site), I spent less and less time on my mac as it was doing strange things...

By strange things I mean, connecting all over the net automatically, and for a long time I tried to get it to stop, but was unsuccessful until...

One day, I came upon the idea to take a sniffer, and change it in such a way that would enable it to link network connections in real time to running processes and log such processes.

Doing this allowed me to detect a configured apple application that is used to push data to remote devices...

Apple does not configure this application in such a way but obviously someone gained access to the machine in 2017 and made such a change.

 

It has served me well as a diagnostic tool and with that in mind it is now part of the open source paradigm.

All tcpdump.org code retain there copyright as per there requirement and all added code is linked to the GPL
